This open-air museum offers a glimpse into the town's 19th-century seafaring past, featuring historic buildings, exhibits, and the unmissable 'Shipwrecked' sound and light laser show. If you do anything before you leave Warrnambool, make sure you come here!
2. Beaches Cafe and Bar
After exploring the village, take a leisurely stroll up to the conveniently located Beaches Cafe and Bar near the Flagstaff Hill reception and gift shop, and have an invigorating cup of coffee and one of the finest breakfast experiences in Warrnambool paired with an absolutely gorgeous view of the iconic Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village to wrap up your morning!

3. Lake Pertobe Adventure Playground
A fantastic spot for families and wildlife lovers, Lake Pertobe Adventure Playground offers a variety of play equipment, including giant slides and flying foxes, as well as a beautiful scenic walk, lots of local wildlife to admire, and a Cafe not five minutes away!

5. Warrnambool Botanic Gardens
Post-lunch, why not visit the Warrnambool Botanic Gardens, designed by William Guilfoyle, the creator of Melbourne's Royal Botanic Gardens. Established in the 19th century, these gardens offer a tranquil, peaceful setting with mature trees, ponds, and walking paths. Look up and you might even catch a few hundred bats having a well earned rest!
6. Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve
Only a short drive from Warrnambool, Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve is set within a dormant volcano and is home to a variety of native wildlife, including emus, kangaroos, and koalas! It's a fantastic spot for nature walks and wildlife spotting, you absolutely will not want to miss this!

7. Sunset at Logan's Beach Whale Nursery
Finish your incredible day with a visit to Logan's Beach Whale Nursery, especially if you're visiting during the whale watching season (June to September). Even outside of whale season, the platform offers a simply life changing view and one of Australia’s most incredible sunsets and is only a stone’s throw away from one of the most popular and beautiful beaches in Victoria!

Two Kings Burgers: One of our personal favourite take away restaurants in town, Two Kings Burgers is an American-style burger joint with loads of different selections and some of the most mouth-watering burgers you will ever eat! It offers loads of extras as well, like loaded fries, milkshakes, and an ice cream shop right next door!
Dart and Marlin and Standard Dave: Only across the road from Swinton’s IGA, the Dart and Marlin is a truly charming little cocktail bar with a cozy atmosphere and warm service! Once you’ve had a drink and a good night with friends, head next door to Standard Dave and grab a delicious woodfired pizza to eat at the restaurant or take away to your wonderful apartment!
